Well this Blog is a first for our company (Med Monitors of America, Inc.).  We are trying our best to get the word out about what we do and why we are doing it.  We have been advised that this blog will help, so here goes.

My wife and I both being senior citizens for quite some time, have learned quite a bit about the day to day encounters we all go through associated with our health.   Now, I am not just referring to the aches and pains. Our health encompasses a great deal more.

For instances, the stress we go through on our doctor’s visits.  “Don’t you just love carrying your pills with you” or maybe looking for that tattered and torn paper with all of them written on.   If you’re like me that is enough to get your blood pressure up let alone the “White Coat syndrome”.  This also occurs on those unsuspected emergency visits to the hospital ER.

Just that alone was enough for me to consider doing something to make my visits less stressful.  Being in the military for over 23 years and going through the Korean and Vietnam conflicts as an infantryman I have learned some valuable information.  That being what the good ole “G.I. Dog Tag” was worth.  That little metal tag saved a lot of lives.  I researched the history of the “Dog Tag”  it went back as far as the Civil War.  Of course at that time the military did not issue them it was simply something that was felt needed by both the Union and Confederate soldiers.  They were mostly all handmade and just contained enough information to see that they were properly identified in case of being wounded and not able to talk or in the event of death. Of course over the years the “Dog Tag” has been elaborated on with more and more information to protect our wounded and those less fortunate KIAs.

The basic idea of the “Dog Tag” intrigued me enough that I wanted to see it worked in civilian life as well.  That led me to creating Med Monitors of America, Inc.,  which is a privately held company with a few stock holders, (Investors are still welcomed).

The company was formed in January 2009, so you see we are just in our infancy.  However, I am proud to say we have developed a well organized operation and have received praise from EMT’s, Doctors, Nurses and other Healthcare providers where ever we have gone to introduce our wonderful product we call the “Medical Alert I.D. Card”.  We have been invited to Health Fairs and Senior Centers to explain what our Medical Alert I.D. Card can do for our clients and again, we remain continuously amazed at the response and acceptance.

We are looking forward to our company providing this life saving tool to thousands nationwide. When you have something new and you offer it at a reasonable price you can accomplish such a goal. We don’t expect to get paid just for our idea we want to receive our just rewards for our service and integrity and future development.  As of this moment we have one of the finest administrative systems in the country, we can process a trillion gigabytes of information with availability far beyond if needed.

By now I hope I have raised your curiosity to hear about the card and its functions and values.  The Medical Alert I.D. Card is made of plastic the same size as a credit card.  The card contains your name, Date of Birth, Name of  the person you want notified in case of an emergency and their phone number.  In addition it has the name of your Primary Physician and their phone number, it list all your known prescriptions, dosage and times taken.  We have included space for your ”Allergies and Blood type” as well as any major health problems you’re currently experiencing.  Last but not least we show the date in which the card was last up-dated. The date it was up-dated lets the EMT personnel know that you care.

As you can see we provide the EMT personnel a lot of information about you, but why?   Well let’s just review a few things that will enlighten you on the cards value.  First of all we know that EMT personnel are highly trained and experienced at what they do.  But what tells them what to do,  as I said training and experience, now throw in the factor of the information contained on the Medical Alert I.D. Card found either hanging around your neck or in your wallet or purse.  That will bring a smile to their face because now you have saved them some very valuable time. They can now make a more clearer diagnois’s thus making their responsibility of getting you to the ER a lot faster.  All of this is brought about in most medical emergencies because the patient is either unconscious or in shock and unable to respond to questions asked by ER personnel.

Now lets take those times when you are not in an emergency situation, like going for a doctors appointment.  Here the card is also a valuable tool to get you through a lot of unneeded stress in filling out paper work.  The card has all of your prescriptions listed and their dosages.  It also provides the newly visited doctors with an immediate evaluation of any major problems and your allergies.  Let’s just consider the prescription and allergy scenario here for a moment.  Are you aware that over 106,000 people die every year due to mistakes made at pharmacies, hospitals and ER clinics due to incorrect prescriptions being prescribed or incorrect dosage given not to mention the interaction received from their current allergies.  Knowledge of foreseen problems is a life saving tool.  We like to think that everything we put on your card is a life-line to prevent a serious problem.  Like a lifesaver thrown to a drowning man our “Medical Alert I.D. Card” can be your lifesaver.

Now let me tell you how you can obtain this card, what happens during the time you own one and what it cost for the service.  First the cost, cause I already know you’re waiting to hear the  hundreds of dollars you will be spending over the rest of your life Well what would you say if I told you the cost of the service is approximately three cents a day. ” That’s right”, I said  three cents a day.  I already explained to you all the information the card contains.  So now I will tell you how it is given to us and how we secure it in our data bank for future reference.  The process is simple.  First of all you go to our website www.medmonitorsofamerica.com and download our application form.  Fill it out (it is all self explanatory) and e-mail it to us as explained on the website. Do not send any money you will be billed later.

We currently have three plans available to you.  (1) A one-time card issued with no updates or services other than being filed in our data system for the one-time fee of only Five dollars and ninety-five cents ($5.95).  Or, (2) Our Silver Plan which cost Nine dollars and ninety-five cents ($9.95) for the first year and four dollars and ninety-five cents ($4.95) a year renewal fee.  This plan allows for up-dates at a cost of Two Dollars ($2.00) per submission.  Now let me explain more clearly what we mean by submission.  A submission does not imply one individual entry or change it means you can submit one, two, three or more all at one time and the fee is still only Two Dollars ($2.00) total.  Now really, does that sound like to much money for something that can save your life?  Or, (3)  The Gold Plan which cost Nineteen Dollars and ninety-five cents ($19.95) a year with an annual renewal fee of Nine Dollars and ninety-five cents ($9.95) includes two cards and all the submission’s free of charge no matter how many or how often.  Now with all that for you to grasp you may want to think about having one or more cards, you know like one in your wallet or purse and one in the glove compartment of the car or for your better half to have and hold.  Just remember each card is an entity itself and the fees for submissions if any, apply  for each card.  All additional cards are One Dollar ($1.00) each.

Now let me give you something else to think about.  In my particular case I have a grandson who has had open heart surgery three times.  In his case any serious blow to his chest could be fatal.  We want the school authorities aware of this and his classmates as well.  Wearing the “Medical Alert I.D. Card” around his neck or in his wallet means that we have given him a better chance of survival.  Now why would you not want the same for any of your loved ones.

This Blog will be our only means of getting the word out to those in need of our service.  I am asking you all in need or not to pass the word for me about our wonderful product.  Thank You…

Your comments and questions will be answered, don’t hesitate to submit them.

My father was retired from the U.S. Navy and in his honor I will end this blog posting with the words he uttered to us (brother and I) many times over, “God Bless America and all her Ships at Sea”.
HAVE A NICE DAY AND PLEASE SAY A PRAYER FOR OUR ARMED FORCES SERVING WORLD WIDE.
